We are looking for a Senior Azure Data Consultant to join our growing team.
The ideal candidate has experience of building data pipelines, data modelling, working with Azure data services including exposure to Machine Learning and AI principles. You enjoy optimising data systems and building them from the ground up. The Architect will support the team on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. They must be comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems and products.
You will need to create complex high-quality solutions that make meaningful impact. You’ll be responsible for overall leadership and delivery of the solutions from requirement gathering through implementation. You’ll use your in-depth knowledge of leading-edge products and technologies along with industry and business skills to influence outcomes.
The role will vary depending on the project but will primarily focus on the delivery of enterprise-level applications in the Business Intelligence and Data Analytics space. This is a client-facing position, so the ideal candidate must be comfortable speaking with clients and some occasional travel.
Working on projects that utilise products within the Microsoft Azure and SQL Data analytics stack, including Synapse, Data Lake, Data Bricks and Power BI
Satisfying the expectations and requirements of customers, both internal and external
Supporting others in their development
Building solutions that adhere to our client’s data principles and delivering against our Data Management framework
IT or Business Management Degree (not essential) or equivalent training
Consultancy experience across Financial, Retail. Not for profit industries.
Presales consultancy experience
Experience working in data quality, data governance or data management
5+ years’ experience
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Azure data services.
Certified or looking to complete Azure certification for the below pathways.
Microsoft Data Fundamentals
Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate
AI Fundamentals
AI Engineer Associate
Azure Administration
Industry experience in delivering Microsoft Azure/SQL, Data Analytics solutions, with a good grounding in all associated areas including Synapse, Data Lake, Data Bricks, Azure SQL, Logic Apps and Power BI.
Experience working with Azure DevOps
Experience in migrating SQL Server VMs to Azure
Strategic and operational decision-making skills
Outstanding interpersonal skills
Ability and attitude towards investigating and sharing new technologies
Ability to guide, direct or influence people
Ability to identify opportunities and issues
Willingness to learn based on feedback
Able to help others develop
Experience and/or knowledge of data quality and lineage tools: Ad Initio, Collibra, Informatica, IBM MDM, Azure Purview
Experience creating and using data models and data definitions
Strong presentation skills both written and oral, experienced in presenting complex data concepts to a business audience i.e. running workshops and formal data governance meetings
Comfortable with the consulting lifestyle, willing to travel to clients, the office, able to work extended hours on occasion and to spend nights away from home (some international travel may be required).
Candidates will hold a United Kingdom driving licence
